Data Sources
Last updated: July 2026
Trailfolio uses publicly available Canadian government data to power its financial calculators and scenario modeling. This page credits the original data providers as required by their respective open data licenses.
How this data reaches the tools
Every rule, fee schedule, and conversion table lives in a versioned data file that carries its source URL and the date it was last verified. A calculator never hardcodes a figure. It reads that file. When an agency publishes a revision, the update touches the data file and its golden tests in the same change, which makes any gap between what the source says and what the tool computes visible rather than silent.
Verification cadence follows the source, not us: draw rounds are read on publication, processing times on IRCC's monthly cycle, fee tables and funds thresholds on their annual revision. Pages show the date of the source rather than the date the text was last edited, and a dataset that has fallen behind its cadence is flagged on the page that uses it instead of being presented as current.
We publish calculations, not case files. Nothing you enter into a calculator is sold, and every source below is an open publication. No private or restrictively licensed dataset feeds these results.
